A self-emptying dock does two jobs. It charges the stick, and when you put the vacuum back it pulls the contents of the small bin into a larger bag inside the base, so you are not tipping a dusty cup over the kitchen bin after every clean. That is handy with pet hair and fine dust, and it means a small stick bin matters less. The trade-offs are floor space, a socket near the storage spot, ongoing bag purchases and a short, loud burst when the dock empties. This guide compares six sticks with self-emptying docks on how the dock is described, the dust bags supplied, whether the dock charges the battery, maker runtime and any noise figure in the listing. Samsung dominates this category, so most picks are Bespoke Jet models, with one Dreame for contrast.
