Our take
Battery not included, and why that matters
Einhell is clear that no Power X-Change battery or charger comes in the box. If you own neither, you will need to buy both separately before the vacuum works, which changes the comparison with rivals that ship ready to use.
The upside is flexibility: batteries, chargers and tools can be mixed across the whole Einhell range. Because the battery is not specified, the listing gives no runtime figure, as it depends on the pack you use.
Motor, suction and controls
The brushless motor is described as powerful and low maintenance, with a ten year motor warranty after registration. Suction is rated at 270 mbar, and the LED display lets you switch between three modes, although the spec table lists two power levels.
An always-on function keeps the motor running without holding a trigger, which is easier on the hand for longer cleans.
Heads, bin and filter
Two floor heads are included: a universal nozzle with an integrated hair comb, and a soft roller you can fit for hard floors. There is also a small motorised floor nozzle for stairs and upholstery, a 2-in-1 nozzle, a flexible crevice nozzle and a wall mount. Spotlight LEDs are listed.
The 0.85 litre bin empties at the push of a button and comes off fully for washing. Filtration is a three-stage system with HEPA material. Without a battery the stick weighs 1.35 kg, and spare parts are listed as available for eight years.
Einhell, BLACK+DECKER or Dreame T20?
The BLACK+DECKER POWERSERIES Extreme takes the same shared-battery approach for the 18V MAX system and includes a battery, but has a cyclonic filter with no HEPA rating.
If you have no tool batteries at all, the Dreame T20 is a light, complete stick at 1.67 kg with up to 70 minutes in standard mode.
Verdict
The TE-SV 18/270 is an easy recommendation for anyone with Einhell Power X-Change packs and a charger, given its big bin, HEPA filter and two floor heads. BLACK+DECKER 18V MAX owners should look at the POWERSERIES Extreme, and buyers with no tool batteries will be better off with a complete stick such as the Dreame T20.
