The Dreame Z20 is a good fit for larger homes with plenty of hard flooring, where both runtime and the ability to see fine dust matter. It comes with two lit floor heads, a soft roller and a multi-surface brush, and the listing quotes up to 90 minutes from a machine weighing just 2 kg. Long runtime at that weight is unusual among the sticks here.

In its favour
- Lighting on both brushes reveals hidden dust on hard floors, says the maker.
- Infrared dirt detection adjusts suction automatically.
- Up to 90 minutes of runtime is listed by the maker.
Good to know
- UK spare soft rollers are less widely stocked than Dyson parts.
- The listing does not give a noise figure.
Our take
Suction and sensing
Dreame quotes 250 AW from a motor running at 140,000 rpm. Infrared sensors detect dirt particles and raise suction automatically, and the LCD displays the result in real time. That gives you some of the feedback found on Dyson's Detect models.
The listing's spec table mentions a single power level, which sits oddly with the automatic adjustment described in the bullets. The auto mode is the one the listing emphasises.
CelesTect lighting on both heads
Both the soft roller and the multi-surface brush use CelesTect lighting to reveal dust that would otherwise be missed. On hard floors the soft roller is the head to use, while the multi-surface brush deals with carpet.
Other accessories are listed only generally, covering pet hair, delicate surfaces, narrow corners and low spaces. A charging dock is included.
Filtration and upkeep
Filtration is described as full HEPA for the whole device, capturing 99.99% of particles down to 0.3 microns. The features list mentions a washable filter, so maintenance should be a rinse and dry. The bin holds 0.6 litres, and a full charge takes four hours.
The Italian-language product title refers to H14 filtration, but the English bullets describe it only as HEPA at 0.3 microns, so the grade is not fully clear.
Z20 or Z30 Ultra, and the Dyson V8 Absolute
Dreame's Z30 Ultra raises suction to 330 AW with an H14 filter, keeps the 90 minute ceiling and is listed at 2.2 kg, but comes with a single lit universal brush and no dedicated soft roller.
The Dyson V8 Absolute includes a soft roller too, but is limited to 40 minutes and 115 AW. Its main advantage is a Direct Drive head for carpet in the same box, which matters if you have a few thick rugs as well.
Verdict
The Dreame Z20 suits anyone with a large home and lots of hard floor who wants a light stick that keeps going. If you need stronger suction and a clearly graded filter, look at the Dreame Z30 Ultra, and if you prefer the Dyson name for a smaller home, the Dyson V8 Absolute also includes a soft roller.
