The BLACK+DECKER POWERSERIES Extreme makes most sense for people who already own BLACK+DECKER 18V MAX tools. Its removable battery belongs to that system, so the same packs that run a drill or hedge trimmer can run the vacuum. It also stands on its own without a wall bracket, which suits homes where drilling into walls is not an option.

Our take
The 18V MAX battery system
The battery is removable and compatible with the BLACK+DECKER 18V MAX lithium-ion range. The listing explains that maximum initial voltage without load is 20 volts, while nominal voltage is 18 volts, which is the standard way the brand labels the platform.
If you have spare packs from garden or DIY tools, you can swap them in rather than waiting for a recharge. The spec table lists a runtime of 58 minutes but does not say which mode or battery that figure relates to.
Floor head and filtration
The beater bar is anti-tangle, which the listing says helps reduce hair wrap. LED headlights on the head illuminate dirt that would be hard to see under furniture.
Filtration is cyclonic, and BLACK+DECKER says this is designed to keep the filter clean. No HEPA rating is given, so people with allergies may want to look elsewhere.
Storage and what the listing omits
The self-standing design means you can stand it up for storage and charging with no leaning required. Noise is listed at 80 decibels.
The bin capacity is not stated, and the listed weight of 4.88 kg is probably the boxed weight rather than the vacuum alone, since the dimensions given look like packaging. Only one battery is listed among the components, and charge time is not given. Check those points if runtime matters to you.
Against the Einhell TE-SV 18/270 and Bosch Unlimited 7
The Einhell TE-SV 18/270 follows the same shared-battery idea with Einhell's Power X-Change packs, but is sold without any battery or charger, and adds a brushless motor, HEPA filtration and a 0.85 litre bin.
The Bosch Unlimited 7 also uses 18 V packs and ships with two of them plus a quick charger, along with a HEPA cartridge filter. For a buyer with no existing tool batteries, that makes the Bosch the more complete package.
Verdict
Buy the POWERSERIES Extreme if you are already invested in BLACK+DECKER 18V MAX batteries and want a self-standing stick that shares them. Einhell Power X-Change owners should choose the Einhell TE-SV 18/270 instead, and anyone starting from scratch will get more in the box with the Bosch Unlimited 7.
