Our take
What you get from the Unlimited 7 platform
Bosch fits a TurboSpin motor of up to 66,000 rpm and claims cleaning performance as strong as a corded machine. The AllFloor DynamicPower Brush has integrated LEDs and is listed for carpets, hard floors, tiles and other surfaces, with Bosch quoting more than 99.9% dust pick-up.
The Flex Tube bends for low furniture, and a Nozzle Foot Release and lightweight handheld unit round out the design. The handheld mode covers upholstery and car interiors with the supplied nozzles.
One battery, 40 minutes
The single 3.0 Ah battery gives up to 40 minutes, according to the model description, and Bosch says it cleans up to 100 square metres per charge. Charge time is listed at 4.5 hours with the standard charger.
Because the pack is part of the Power For All system, you can add a second battery later, or borrow one from a Bosch green tool, to double the cleaning time.
Bin, noise and accessories
The dust box is 0.3 L, common to every Unlimited model, which means regular emptying on carpets. Listed noise is 82 dB and weight is 2.8 kg. Bosch gives a two year manufacturer warranty.
Included tools are a long flexible crevice nozzle, a 2-in-1 furniture brush and upholstery nozzle, a small crevice nozzle and a docking station.
BCS711GB or the twin battery BCS712GB?
The Bosch Unlimited 7 BCS712GB is the same vacuum with a second 3.0 Ah battery and a quick charger, giving a listed 80 minutes and an 80 minute charge time. For a large house that is the better buy.
The Bosch Unlimited 6 BCS612GB is lighter and quieter and also includes two batteries, but it lacks the Flex Tube and the LED lit brush.
Verdict
The BCS711GB suits a flat or modest house where 40 minutes covers the floors and you want the Flex Tube and lit brush of the Unlimited 7. Larger homes should go for the twin battery Unlimited 7 BCS712GB, and anyone who values low weight and quiet running over those features can look at the Bosch Unlimited 6 BCS612GB.
