The Unlimited 7 Pet takes Bosch's mid-range stick and tunes the tools for homes with dogs and cats. The main change is the ProAnimal floor brush, which Bosch says removes pet hair faster and tangles less thanks to a much larger brush roll. A mini power nozzle for sofas and pet beds completes the kit, so it covers floors and soft furnishings without extra purchases.

Our take
The ProAnimal brush explained
Bosch states the ProAnimal brush has a 70% bigger brush roll diameter than its standard head. A wider roll has more surface for hair to spread over, which is how Bosch explains the reduced tangling. The brush also carries LEDs so you can see hair and dust on the floor ahead of it.
An additional brush roll is included in the box, so you can swap in a fresh one rather than cutting hair off the old one in a hurry.
Motor, battery and coverage
The TurboSpin motor runs at up to 66,000 rpm, and Bosch describes the machine as being as strong as a corded vacuum. One 3.0 Ah exchangeable battery is supplied, and the specs list 40 minutes of runtime with a 40 minute charge time.
Bosch prefers to quote area rather than minutes, saying a charge covers up to 100 square metres. That is enough for a typical flat or a small house, but a larger home with pets may need a second Power For All battery.
Tools for upholstery and tight spaces
The accessory list is generous. Along with the ProAnimal Mini Power nozzle for upholstery, you get a long flexible crevice nozzle, a 2-in-1 furniture and upholstery nozzle, a keyboard and drawer nozzle, a mattress nozzle and a standard crevice nozzle, plus a docking station.
The Flex Tube bends so the floor head can reach under low furniture, where pet hair tends to collect. The 0.3 L dust box is small for a pet household, so plan on emptying it more than once per clean.
Compared with the Shark PowerDetect Pet and Unlimited 7 BCS712GB
The Shark PowerDetect Pet also bends under furniture with its Flexology wand and adds sensors that raise suction on dirt and edges, but its listing gives no runtime or weight.
The Bosch Unlimited 7 BCS712GB has the standard AllFloor brush instead of the ProAnimal head, but it includes two batteries for a listed 80 minutes.
Verdict
The Unlimited 7 Pet suits a small to medium home with a shedding dog or cat, where the larger brush roll and mini power nozzle will earn their place. If you want automatic suction boosts and a wand that folds for storage, consider the Shark PowerDetect Pet, and if runtime matters more than pet tools, the twin battery Unlimited 7 BCS712GB is the better fit.
