# Best cordless vacuums for carpet Source: https://wandandfloor.co.uk/best/best-cordless-vacuums-for-carpet Publisher: Wand and Floor. Picks are based on what the Amazon listings state, not on hands-on testing. Method: https://wandandfloor.co.uk/how-we-pick Carpet is where cordless vacuums show their limits. Fine dust and grit sink into the pile, and the only way to lift them is a motorised head with stiff bristles that agitate the fibres while the motor pulls air through. That costs battery: most sticks run far shorter in boost or with the main head fitted than the headline runtime suggests. A good carpet stick therefore needs a strong motorised head, a way to raise power only when it is needed, enough runtime at that higher setting, and a head that is not so draggy you fight it on deep pile. This guide compares six sticks on the carpet head named in the listing, automatic power control, maker runtime, bin capacity and listed weight. If your home is mostly thick carpet over a large area, also read our comparison of cordless and corded machines. ## Products ### 1. Dyson V15 Detect Animal Cordless Stick Cleaner Runtime (max): 60 min; Bin: 0.76 L; Weight: 3 kg; Filter: HEPA, washable; Floor head: High Torque, de-tangling comb Dyson's sensor-led flagship stick, with a piezo dust sensor, an LCD particle readout and a High Torque head that adapts power to the floor. It suits larger homes with mixed floors and hair. In its favour: - A piezo sensor sizes and counts dust and raises suction automatically, with the result shown on the LCD screen. - The High Torque head checks brush bar resistance 360 times a second in Auto mode to adapt to carpet or hard floor. - A Hair screw tool with a conical brush bar is included for sofas, stairs and pet beds. Good to know: - At a listed 3 kg it is one of the heavier sticks here, which you notice when cleaning overhead. - The listing gives one maximum runtime and does not break it down by power mode or head. ### 2. Shark Stratos Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner Pet Pro Copper IZ400UKTBK Runtime (max): 60 min; Bin: 0.7 L; Weight: 2.16 kg in use; Filter: Cartridge; Floor head: DuoClean, Anti Hair Wrap A light Shark stick with Clean Sense IQ dirt sensing, a two-roller DuoClean head and a battery that charges on or off the machine. A strong all-rounder for pet homes that want less weight. In its favour: - An in-use weight of 2.16 kg is among the lightest of the full-size sticks in this guide. - The DuoClean head has two motorised brush-rolls, so it moves between carpet and hard floor without a swap. - Anti-odour cartridge system and a 5-year guarantee on registration, with 2 years on batteries. Good to know: - The 60 minute figure is in ECO mode with a non-motorised tool, so floor-head runtime is shorter. - The listing names a cartridge filter rather than a HEPA grade. ### 3.
